WHY FLOORING TRADES?

The flooring trades offer unlimited potential when it comes to creativity, income, and career opportunities. Each and every floor you install offers you the chance to create something crafted specifically by you.

Not only will you feel pride in your accomplishment at the close of a flooring project, but your clients will look at your work in their homes for years to come. And there’s simply nothing better than feeling good about your work. You’ll get the opportunity to be creative on a daily basis as a flooring installer, and work with your hands.

There is currently a shortage of flooring installers making qualified flooring craftsmen in high demand.  Flooring installation is a high-paying trade job and the industry is motivated to help you get started with training and scholarships.  Whether it’s tile, hardwood, or carpet, you’ll leave your training program ready to start working in the flooring trade.

TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED TO SUCCEED

There are a few technical skills you’ll need to succeed in the flooring industry, all of which do not require a college degree or extensive training. With a little basic knowledge of the specific tools and techniques used in flooring installation, you’ll be on your way and will continue to improve your skills through on-the-job training.

High attention to detail is a great skill to have as you start your flooring craftsmen career. Through training and experience, you’ll also learn project management skills, time management, the ability to problem-solve, the ability to use various tools with your hands to measure, cut, and clean flooring, and a passion for precision. These skills will help you be successful in a flooring craftsman trade job.

You’ll also need physical strength to be able to move building materials, move large pieces of flooring, clean up construction projects and complete flooring jobs that both look great and are installed to last.
