DESCRIPTION:Course Prerequisites: None \nCourse Description: A 4-day introductory level course for anyone who is new to the wood flooring industry. This course provides a broad overview of the wood flooring industry by combining the Basic Install with the Basic Sand and Finish courses. The curriculum includes a history of wood floors\, understanding wood\, an introduction to wood flooring tools and equipment along with their uses\, installation of unfinished and factory finished solid & engineered flooring\, nail\, glue\, and floating installation methods. Fundamentals of sanding and finishing wood flooring\, practice with application of stains\, sealers and finishes\, and gives the attendee the opportunity to participate in the entire wood flooring process from installation to finishing.

DESCRIPTION:Course Prerequisites: 1 year of Sand & Finish experience OR attendance at Basic Sand & Finish School\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Description: A 3-day in-person intermediate level course for those with wood flooring experience. Includes in-depth training on general equipment maintenance\, sanding multiple flooring types/species\, unfinished/factoryfinished\, engineered/multidirectional/parquet flooring. Also includes floor flattening methods\, minimizing the scratch patterns and efficient use of the professional sanding equipment. On the finishing side\, the attendee will learn about and practice with stain application\, sealers\, natural oils\, waxes\, colorants\, reactive conditioners\, finish application\, scraping\, recoats and final coat application\, repairs\, and board replacement. \nCertification Prerequisites:  \n\nBe a member of the NWFA in good standing.\nHave 3 years of experience with sanding and finishing hardwood floors; OR 1 year on-the-job sand & finish experience and attendance at qualifying classes*; OR completion of Wood Floor Specialist apprenticeship\nAttend 3-day NWFA Sand & Finish Training\nComplete the NWFA University (NWFAU) Online Sand & Finish Track OR completion of online written exam\nComplete Hands-On Testing on the day following training event\, demonstrating skills in 4 areas:\n\nRough sanding unfinished strip flooring.\nFinish sanding and applying stain coat.\nApply seal coat.\nPrepare and final coat a prefinished or previously finished strip floor.\n\n\nSign Certified Sand & Finisher Code of Conduct.\n\nNWFA Certification Testing (Additional $400 charge)
